Mini-Golf Course

My parents always took me along with them to golf practice ranges. During these times, I would wander off looking for things to do.  I remember going to all the accommodating candy/refreshment centers, the tv lounges, and goose ponds.

The best parts to the visits were the mini-golf courses.

There were courses with mini wind-mills and bridges.
There were courses with deep pools of water and fake life-size giraffes.
There were courses with the most exquisitely crafted little houses per hole.

Oh, the houses were my favorite. They were such a delight.

They were small, poised on little hills,
painted fresh to the very last minute detail.
They were pasted with pastel colors, little window
frames and panels, and little roofs,
with a small accompanying chimney.
Altogether, they made the most perfect town.
Whenever I thought of the perfect place to live,
my little utopia, it would be this strange mini-golf course
full of tiny little homes with no people and a bunch of holes in fake grass.

If I had a dog, I would craft a mini house for him,
not because I love him, but for the sake of
constructing one and making use of it.

If I were to marry, I would love to marry in a small church that looks
just like these mini churches. Small, but enough to fit my husband
and my immediate friends and family. It would be a small ceremony.

Yes, these are just my thoughts.
Oh, the little things.
